Another Sal-Mobile Adventure

Last night, while driving home from church (which for us is 20 miles from home), the driver's side window of the Sal-Mobile shattered into a million pieces. I'm not sure if this was some weird temperature thing, or if I was the target of an attack on my -mobile by some super-villain. Either way, we are fortunate to live less than a mile from an auto glass place that had the right plate in stock, and we had the day off for the MLK holiday, so the only harm done was to my wallet. Add yet another $167 to the running total of what I've put into my "free" car. Still, it's "cheaper to keep her."

I had that happen to my front windshield on my CR-V before we left Tucson... not a million pieces, but just a loud BANG! followed by a crack that he since crossed nearly the entire windshield. For us, that was windshield #4 that we had to replace from living in Tucson (Note: replacement of CR-V windshield still pending...). Three years there and four windshields destroyed. In the fifteen years of driving before we moved to Tucson, I've not replaced a single one...

I'd go with the supervillian explanation...

I wonder... You are driving that "car" by choice; however, for your pay scale, you "should" have something nicer--not necessarily a fancy sports car, but better than the ghettolicious Sal-Mobile. What do people do who drive that level of transportation device because they can't afford anything better? When they are attacked by super-villains, what do they do about their broken windows? Is that where the magic of duct tape comes in? I guess it is a testament to your income level that the Sal-Mobile ISN'T sporting silver band-aids. It's the tall pygmy thing all over again...

Well, Sal is simply driving like no one else so that later, he can drive like NO ONE ELSE.

So, what's ya dream car Sal?

Well, (switching to politics again) I see we lost Fred. ("Da[ng] it, Fred, what are you doing out here? Who put you out here, Fred?")

At least now the playing field is narrowed down a little. Who do you think those votes will go to now? McCain?
